Stress, triggers and flare-up

I woke up this morning with ulcers on my scalp....for the first time in a very long time.

It has been a very stressful night.....first the alarm for flash flood warnings at 8:34 p.m..  Then the alarm for tornado warnings at 8:52 p.m. and then the flash flood warning blaring again shortly after at around 11:20 or so.  I lay awake for most of the night, just tossing and turning, listening to the sounds of the rain beating on the window panes, my joints aching.  I constantly move to avoid anything locking up.

To top it off, I turn the news on and there has been another mass shooting...this time in Las Vegas.  After checking to see if my friends who live there are safe, all I try to do after that is breathe.  I could feel my chest tighten.  My scalp has been itching for a bit and I can feel the raised bumps in different areas.  It's a good thing that my hair has started to grow in a little bit after shaving my head.  They won't be that noticeable, I guess.

A few ulcers are the least of my worries.
There just seems to be so much hate in the world.
So many countries still reeling from the devastation left from the recent hurricanes, and now more shootings.

Michael Jackson's song came to mind when I heard of the shooting.  May it be a reminder to all of us that we are in this together....in this thing called LIFE.
